Uploading Videos to Inductions (Vimeo and YouTube)
Induction videos are not hosted in HammerTech. They are embedded from third-party platforms, most commonly Vimeo or YouTube. You are responsible for configuring privacy and playback settings before adding the video link to an induction slide.
Using Vimeo
Vimeo is generally easier to control and does not display advertisements. A paid Vimeo plan is required to access the correct privacy settings.
To prepare a Vimeo video for use in an induction:
Upload the video to Vimeo.
Open the video settings.
Under Privacy:
Set Who can watch this video to Hide this video from Vimeo.com.
Set Where can this video be embedded to Only on sites I choose.
Add your HammerTech site URL.
Set Who can comment to No one.
Save the changes.
Open Embed settings and copy only the video URL from the embed code.
Paste that URL into the video field in the induction slide.
If required, HammerTech can enable a setting that prevents workers from skipping forward until the video has played to the end.
Using YouTube
YouTube is free but requires more configuration to control playback behaviour.
To prepare a YouTube video:
Upload the video to YouTube.
Set Privacy to Unlisted.
Disable comments and ratings.
Disable advertising and recommended videos.
Copy the embed URL only, not the full iframe code.
Add parameters such as
rel=0orcontrols=0if you want to hide recommendations or playback controls.Paste the final URL into the induction slide.
YouTube behaviour can change without notice. If consistent playback is critical, Vimeo is usually more reliable.
