Observations track on-site safety or compliance issues.
Each Observation raised in HammerTech includes:
- Classification (Positive, Neutral, Negative)
- Photos and description (note: images can be annotated when uploaded if necessary)
- Responsible party (Employer or Internal User)
- Due date and Priority (Low, Medium, High, Critical)
- Resolution details and photos
Observations can be raised directly from the Observations menu, or from within other modules.
The assignees are notified via email when:
- a new Observation is assigned to them
- Send Reminder is selected on an Observation assigned to them
- a new comment is left on an Observation assigned to them
- a fix they submitted is rejected
Observations are tracked per project.

- Look for the reference number under the Observation reference (Raised in [ref.])
- Click on the source reference number to go to the source
How can I delete an Observation?
OPEN OBSERVATIONS: Open observations can be deleted directly via the main observations page. You can select observations in the left hand navigation menu, which will display a list of your observations. Select the observation, which will expand it from the right hand side and select delete.
CLOSED OBSERVATIONS: When viewing ther main observations list page, you are not able to click on an observation and delete it (as per the process for open observations). To delete a closed observation, you need to search for the observation number (i.e. OBS-1234) using the top right search field. This will take you directly to the observation. Once there, select Options then Delete.
| TIP: Positive observation automatically close once created, so you will always have to search via the OBS numnber in order to delete it. You will never be able to delete a positive observation via the main observation page list view. |
